Who is responsible for the hostile forces?

We hear, read and experience so many hostile forces in our life. Anger is a hostile force. They don't belong to you exclusively. It is not in you. It belongs to everyone. They circulate in the atmosphere. It wanders here and there. If you close the door, it will not enter.

Envy is one such hostile force. You can cite so many such negative forces that we embrace. But we blame fate, bad time for the miseries that happen because we recognize and respond to those negative emotions.

Have you thought on these lines that there is a necessity for the hostile forces? Please be aware that they exist because you gave a reason to exist. There is something in you which answers them. If nothing in you responds, if they had no hold upon any part of your nature, they would retire and leave you.

I learnt this by reading the wonderful writings of 'The Mother" of Shri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, India.

How to convert your self talking habit into manifest desires?

All about reprogramming subconscious mind, affirmations, auto-suggestion centers around self talk.

If you are talking to your spouse, children, colleagues, boss for about 60 minutes a day, do you know how many minutes you are talking to yourself?

It will be a minimum of 120 minutes! If that is the case, have you ever wondered what was it that you were talking to yourself?

* Were you just rehearsing the conversations with others?
* Were you cursing yourself for not doing something properly?
* Were you just day dreaming?

If you care to analyze honestly, you would be pumping your mind, especially your inner self with negative rubbish!

Whatever it may be, you can convert those 120 minutes into something extraordinarily productive. The possibilities are so mind boggling that you would certainly curse yourself (again but for a better purpose) for not knowing about it earlier.

Know where you're going in life. You may already be there!!

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican fishing village.

A tourist complimented the local fishermen on the quality of their fish and asked
how long it took him to catch them.

Not very long." they answered in unison.

"Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?"

The fishermen explained that their small catches were sufficient to meet their needs and those of their families.

"But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"We sleep late, fish a little, play with our children, and take siestas with our wives.
In the evenings, we go into the village to see our friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs.

We have a full life."

The tourist interrupted,

"I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."

"And after that?"

"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants
and maybe even open your own plant.

You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City , Los Angeles , or even New York City !

From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."

"How long would that take?"

"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years." replied the tourist.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? Well my friend, that's when it gets really interesting, " answered the tourist, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the fishermen.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast,
sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife
and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."

“That’s what I am doing now” Replied the fisherman

And the moral of this story is:

Know where you're going in life.... you may already be there!!

If this story can't open our eyes....

A woman baked chappati for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra chappati on the window-sill, for whosoever would take it away.

Everyday, a hunchback came and took away the chappati. Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following g words as he went his way: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!" This went on, day after day. Everyday, the hunch-back came, picked up the chappati and uttered the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"

The woman felt irritated. "Not a word of gratitude,” she said to herself. "Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean?"

One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him. "I shall get rid of this hunchback," she said. And what did she do? She added poison to the chappati she prepared for him! As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. "What is this I am doing?" she said. Immediately, she threw the chappati into the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window- sill.

As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the chappati and muttered the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"

The hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in the mind of the woman.

Everyday, as the woman placed the chappati on the window-sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune. For many months, she had no news of him. She prayed for his safe return.

That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak... As he saw his mother, he said, "Mom, it's a miracle I'm here. While I was but a mile away, I was so famished that I collapsed.

I would have died, but just then an old hunchback passed by. I begged of him for a morsel of food, and he was kind enough to give me a whole chappati. As he gave it to me, he said, "This is what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your need is greater than mine!"

As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale. She leaned against the door for support. She remembered the poisoned chappati that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life!

It was then that she realized the significance of the words: "The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!

How to keep moving up in life?

From beggar to multi millionaire, all wants to move up in their life. This is the basis of this expanding universe.

But, unfortunately, in spite of the desire, not everyone moves up even though they possess qualifications, drive and persistence.

Why?

Human beings are traditionally comfort loving species. We keep resisting changes when they knock at our door. We steadfastly cling to our past even if we look for changes. This means we unconsciously are afraid of changes.

The change may be a different place, new job or new responsibilities. But we are still reluctant to let go of the past. We simply fail to realize that in order to make new things to happen, we have to make room for them by letting go of the past.

For every transformation to arise, somethings have to vanish.

But, if we cling to the past, it means we are refusing to go with the flow of life.

Your focal point's ill effects.

The non-stop of watching of television dramas, short films, soap operas and so on, does more damage to human mind than any other destructional devices or products.

Our eyes are so glued to the human frame in the TV screen for long time that they fail to see the surroundings of the human characters. We are totally identified with the characters and start emulating them in our real life unconsciously.

This causes serious damage to our relationship with others and also with the environment. Even when we walk on the road, we focus fully on the human beings and not on the greeneries, birds, insects, buildings and a myriad other things.

I implore you to think on these lines and give your attention to the charms of life too.

Did you get the message?

I am deeply inspired and moved by an article by Al Diaz and based on that, I am writing this blog post.

There are certain things that keep recurring in our life; events, incidents and experiences which we would not have wished, might have occurred repeatedly.

We might have carefully watched over our thoughts, stayed fully on positive thoughts only, wished no harm to any one or any creature, must have been leading a compassionate life but still…

We might be fervently wishing for better turn of events and conditions but why it is not so?

Then we must grasp and digest a fact that there is something the universe is trying to tell us. There is surely a hidden purpose for the ‘not so desired’ experiences and conditions in our life.

Al Diaz says there is a reason why the same old stuff resurfaces and it is telling you to wake up!!!

There is no use to get angry at the circumstances, no use blaming others; it is not bad luck at all.

So, what should be done?

It is time you invest in your Self. Listen to your inner voice. Read new books; cultivate new habits; change your routine; reach out for new friends. Do something totally new to you!

Al Diaz has concluded his article in such a manner that it hit me hard and square and here it is: “If you decide to do nothing or very little, I still honor your path, and I still Love you as you are… The same goes if you fulfill the greatness that you already are.”

Love letters from God.

A spiritually inclined friend of mine asked me if I would like to read letters of love from God.

For a moment, I thought he was joking. Then he admitted that he read those letters in a website called soulprogress.com

Right now, I have opened that website in another window and found it to be beautiful with a lotus flower at its center and the links around it.

I clicked on the link to 'Self" and what I saw impressed me. I thought I will share this with you. I give a few lines from it.

"Both personal growth and spiritual evolution share two goals: to REALIZE who we essentially are, and to MANIFEST that true selfhood in life. In this sense, true growth is more about becoming oneself than changing oneself."
