How to write effective affirmations?

I firmly believe in the power of affirmations and I have written about it in the past.

I have subscribed to many web sites who email me daily one or two positive affirmations with detailed explanations about how those affirmations work and for what purpose.

Today, I have received an email from Quantum Mind Power about how to write our own affirmations. This is an eye opener for me because, I have committed a few mistakes in the past while I wrote affirmations to my friends.

I give below a few examples:

1. The affirmation must be believable to the subconscious mind.

If you are financially broke and you say to yourself “I earn $100,000 per year”, is this believable to your mind? Instead of saying “I earn $100,000 per year,” Say “I choose to earn $100,000 per year”

2. The subconscious mind seeks for proof.
It is the feeling you attach to money that makes you rich or poor. How can we turn this to our advantage?
Instead of feeling pain when spending money, what if we associate pleasure with it? Next time when you go out shopping, at the moment you take out

your money or credit card, say this affirmation to yourself “I always have more than enough to spend.”

3. The affirmation must obey the 3 Ps factor.

The 3 Ps are Positive, Present Tense, and Personal.

I apply the teaching of Louise L. Hay to my life in all things. She has proven to be a sound source of inspiration.

My favourite affirmation is: "I forgive everyone, I forgive myself, I forgive all past experience. By forgiving everyone, by forgiving myself, I am FREE!" I sing this!!

My wife writes for: http://www.liveholistically.com and her affirmation e-book will be available soon. Meanwhile it's a treasure of a site, written by 5 different women on all things holistic.
