The Chart plotters transition.

Do you remember the ancient Halda typewriters? May be not, because you may belong to a much newer generation.

I took my typing lessons in those mammoth Halda machines. I was also fortunate enough to use electronic typewriter some 16 years ago. But the transition was quick and smooth.

I wonder it was that smooth from pen Chartplotters to LCD display chartplotters. Only mariners could throw more light on their experience.

Pen plotters actually draws point-to-point lines directly from vector graphics files with different colored ink pens.

But chart plotters with LCD displays are more sophisticated with sharper resolution and clearly visible even in dark.
