Drop shipping explained.

I have always wanted to know what is drop shipping for a long time, but some how never remembered to look in the internet.

At last to day I got an opportunity to learn about drop shipping, when I stumbled onto the eBay forums.

Drop shipping is where you don't keep the actual items in stock. You just list it, sell it, and then submit an order to another company that mails it directly to the bidder.

Drop shipping can occur when a retailer (who typically sells in small quantities to the general public) receives a single large order for a product. Rather than route the shipment through the retail store, the retailer will arrange for the goods to be shipped directly to the purchaser. This has been made easier since the internet revolution of the mid 1990s.

This is what happens in eBay. Many sellers on eBay drop ship. Typically a seller will bid an item as new and ship the item directly from the wholesaler to the highest bidder. The seller profits from the difference between the winning bid and the wholesale price, minus any selling and merchant fees from eBay.

Here starts your learning curve about eBay fees which is certainly complex.

I know I can’t teach you fully how eBay works, but I can direct you to a nice eBay forum where you can look around and get acquainted with other eBay members.

A forum is essentially a website composed of a number of member-written threads. Each thread entails a discussion or conversation in the form of a series of member-written posts. These threads remain saved on the forum website for future reading indefinitely or until deletion by a moderator.

Learn how to sell and buy in eBay from the basics to advanced lever by reading other members’ thread and you can also ask questions by starting a thread on your own.
