Hawaii-apart from earning the name of the most preferred destination in the world, it also is known for its 'Kahunas'-who are said to have great healing capacities. They are mostly priests and teachers.

Kahuna is a Hawaiian word, defined in the Pukui & Elbert Dictionary as "Priest, sorcerer, magician, wizard, minister, expert in any profession."

By now, I see a transformation taking place everywhere in the world that takes the people more towards spirituality and belief in the powers of ascended masters. In India, there are several stories of these ascended masters who are actually guardian angels.

When I see different discount/cashback offers by different credit cards I would imagine a scene where about 7 credit issuing companies and financial institutions sit with an eager anticipation for auction gong to go. Finally, after a few tense minutes, the bell is rung and the organizer of the auctions announces, “The bidding starts now”.

Does spirituality mean poverty?

It is quite probable that the question arose after seeing the life of ascetics and sadhus. But they are not spiritual leaders altogether; they lead more a life of religious penance.

There is this confirmed misconception that those whose life is in the transition stage-from materialistic to spiritualistic, always face financial shortage.

I happen to read an article in Cosmic Lighthouse on this subject and that's why I am writing my thoughts here. They have attributed a seemingly valid reason for spiritual leaders or spiritual healers living a life in poorly conditions.

Again this is a question of varying concept. I believe that the so called spiritual powers were gifted to them from the universe. They mostly would not have spent a fortune to get these healing powers like medical practitioners. So, it is quite possible that they believed in giving things away freely that were given to them freely.

Can anyone bother debate on this?

This morning was greeted by this message from an email newsletter that I received from Wes Hopper of Dailygratitude.com

I am sure you wonder how it is possible for our lives to change for the better by just giving thanks to everything we have as on date and everything we experience daily.

When do we say thanks? When do we feel the genuine gratitude?
When we receive something good from others and from nature, we say thanks because we have sincerely appreciated whatever we have received or experienced.

For once, forget about the material given to us and let us think about something beautiful that we observed and appreciated-a natural scene, a soul touching music or a life changing spiritual wisdom; we say thanks and we continue talk about it or think about it for a day or two.

This keeps our focus on those wonderful experiences. By the law of universe or more specifically, by the law of attraction, what we focus, expands. Those laws see to it that we experience more of the same (what we experienced and said thanks for).

Now, I am grateful for the newsletter that I received today that inspired me to write this blog. I am positive that the message in this blog post will reach at least one person in this world. And he will pass it on surely thereby creating a chain.

It has been raining cats and dogs in Madras since last two days. There is water everywhere. In spite of the inclement weather, a few students attended my class.

As I have just completed my M. Phil through online education and awaiting result, one student wanted to know what topic I have chosen. These so called coincidences mean the universe is orchestrating on behalf of you, moving things and people so that you are gently drawn towards your inner desire.

Fog and the tragedy.

It is not my habit to blog about any tragedy but I feel really sorry when I read about an accident that occurred yesterday that killed 16 people.

A mini van carrying passengers rammed onto a train at a level crossing in northern India killing several people and injured many persons.

The cause of the accident is dense fog. India is a peculiar country. While it is not as cold as Canada during winter in India, normal life is affected for many hours every day due to very thick fog.

Yesterday, this blog attracted exactly 50 readers. I was immensely happy. I realize that I have so much to share about self improvement by way of spiritual development but somehow, I don't seem to find time to devote to this blog.

I need peace of mind to write for this blog, I should not be weighed down by the pressure of day to day survival. That is my ultimate wish. The solution to be happy always.

'The power of now' seemed to be absolute solution for all our imagined problems. Yes, I can now clearly say 'imagined problems' because I took myself a test and repeated the same with my family members.

The result was astoundingly positive. I asked myself if I have any problem NOW. I knew I was not joyful at that time and decided that the reason for my state of negative emotion was my concern about a pressing matter that I had to face the next day.

I repeated the question to myself and told myself to narrow down to the present moment not not beyond it. I found myself saying I had no problem at all at that precise moment.

The reason for the negative state of emotion is only because of my worry about the next day which was several moments away.

I wrote a blog post long time back about my visit to DCW at Sahupuram near Tuticorin. I had mentioned about my friend Mohan and Saravanan in that blog post.

After so many months, I have received an email from a person named Ramji, who was all praise for the wonderful hospitality he received at DCW through Saravanan.

I am really thrilled and very happy that my blog post on something totally personal was read by someone.

A treasure among rubbish.

My family is yet to settle down. We have relocated to 5 different houses in the last 6 years. As every year passes by, we seem to be adding things to our house though we are clearly unaware hat we are accumulating clutters.

But when we start packing to go to yet another house, we discard several boxes of clutters that we manage to add over the years. Sometimes, during sorting and filtering, we used to find valuable items that we call treasures. Somehow, they find their way to the boxes of unwanted goods.

During our routine house shifting last month, an ugly looking star made up of some metal revealed its presence. When my husband was about to throw it away, his brother stopped him and began to inspect the star. He suspected it to be a silver star and did some polishing in an amateurish way to reveal glimpses of the original silver color.

The silver star was awarded to my husband by his school principal in 1971 for his good show in basketball.

Though we never know why it got discolored, we preserved it for memory sake. It must have been made of inferior silver.

He was only 24, while he was studying in Princeton University in 1957 when he conceptualized this idea that a multitude of universes or a multiverse where all all life's possibilities play out. It means that somewhere Elvis is singing and Nazis are fighting.

Who is in the heaven?

Definitely your prayers are answered. But you should remember that the answer is by your own thoughts and deeds.

Don't imagine that there is a man sitting high above us in the heaven, maintains and operate a computer of a size that the scientists on earth have not yet conceptualized, maintains a database of every living and non living beings in the planet earth and probably in other planets too, record every happenings, events and thoughts of all and execute a command in answer to our prayers, thoughts, deeds, moans, grudges, griefs and desires.

He has set in a giant perpetual wheel in motion that is driven by energies that we can't physically measure. These energies are emitted by every living and non living beings in this planet. But changes in human lives whether it is positive or negative and thereby in the planet earth also, are caused by mankind's thoughts alone which is nothing put the pure energy that drives the world or to be exact, that moves the perpetual wheel set in motion.

I am not an atheist. I have very strong faith in God but this is my faith-the faith in thought energy.

Does faith need an harness?

I am no longer shocked to see the page rank of my blogs reduced to zero.

All of my blogs are stripped to bare except one which moved to PR 3 from zero. I think I have guessed the reason for page rank reduction.

Any blog that contain posts that are not relevant to it's title is penalized. In other words, blogs that get paid to post got the stick from Google. Is it correct to say 'sword' in place of 'stick'?

My blog that got a fresh PR 3 doesn't contain any sponsored post because I am yet to register that blog with any of the 'paid to post' web sites.

Do you believe in ghosts?

The human spirit travels to the world of spirits after relinquishing its body on the earth.

It enters a world where it is surrounded by like minded souls. I should rather say souls with similar vibrations than like minded as spirits do not have a mind.

If someone dies due to suicide or accident, the soul sometimes lingers around the family it lived because it is yet to reconcile to the fact that it has shed its body.

Some may sense its presence and call it a ghost. The soul is nothing but an energy, an extension of God and as such, it can't bring harm to anyone. Allow the past to gently melt away.

"Let us bury the past"-says every spiritual development book but what we do? We strongly say "NO" and continue linger on our past experience thereby reactivating the feelings and emotions of the past.

On one aspect, re-living the good feelings is good because you are emotions are positive and you open up to receive higher vibrating energy but while thinking of the past, our tendency is mostly to think about our bad experiences and by doing that we re-live in negative emotions. This will definitely shut off all the doors to receiving cosmic energy.

We do forget so many names of friends we have met in the past, he names of the books we have read. Why, even we don't usually remember what we ate for dinner the previous day.

But we manage to remember the feelings of the past. We tend to contemplate our future by rating it with our mostly bad experiences of the past. Instead of anticipating a brighter outcome, we expect gloomy results and that is what we eventually experience because that has been our predominant thought.

Daily we clean the grime and dust of previous day off us. But we don't wipe out clean the past bad feelings from our heart. We carry insult and disrespect inflicted on us to the grave.

We must try to live spontaneously. I know it is difficult because of our years of conditioning. But it is possible and once you start living the 'NOW". you will realize the joy it brings.

Studying your dreams.

Till three days before, I too was fascinated by the study of dreams and its interpretation. But when I read a very nice article by spiritual guru Jakki Vasudev, I stopped my quest.

In his answer to a question by a person about the meaning of a repeated dream, he answered a little bit strongly that we all stop our chase after the meaning of dreams and concentrate on the understanding of waking life.

There is an International Association for the Study of Dreams. It is a non profit organization dedicated to the pure and applied investigation of dreams.

This web site is meant for those who are very much interested about the meaning of dreams. They have created this association to do research about the significance of dreaming.

The blog post titled "22 ways to attract success in your life" is very aptly named and also indicates that the author Mr.Biggs has read several spirituality books.

The word 'attract' is the correct word to use in this context. We need to attract success in our life experience and not strive hard. It is also not necessary.

If we know how to use the Law of Attraction, then we can very easily attract success. It is all about guiding our thoughts in the proper direction and about controlling our thoughts.

Before I read all the 22 steps, I was stuck at the first step and I kept pondering over it till I write this post.
